Elections 2024

New Pedigree Breeder Trustees needed. Can you help set up the BPA for the next 25 years!

Our new constitution is designed to make the Association as open and inclusive as possible so the election is open to all members provided they have been members for a least a year. The old process of needing to collect signatures has gone and instead any member who feels they have the necessary skills to be on the Board as a Pedigree Breeder can put their name forward.

Essential Capabilities/Experience:

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of operating at board Trustee level or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate and Charity governance
  • Experience of Pedigree Pig Breeding
  • Excellent Communication Skills

Desired Capabilities/Experience:

  • Experience of working within a livestock/animal charity
  • Experience of working with Animal/Livestock Conservation

Applications will close on July 29th and all applications will be reviewed by an independent nominations committee appointed by the Board. This nomination committee will score the information provided by the applicants against the requirements of the job description. This is a completely anonymous process carried out by an independent panel. Applicants will also be required to have a current clean DBS check and satisfy our ‘fit and proper’ checks undertaken by Experian on behalf of BPA.

If there are more candidates than places available an election will be held in early September so that the results can be confirmed ahead of the Annual General Meeting in October. Successful candidates will serve a three-year term.
