The Scottish Smallholder Festival is on the move!
The 2023 Scottish Smallholder Festival will move to the Royal Highland Centre, signalling the importance of smallholding to the agricultural scene in Scotland. The organisers of the festival, Smallholding Scotland, have signed a three-year deal with the Royal Highland Centre to run the event each year in October, with this year’s festival taking place on the 14th October 2023. The move has been made possible with the support of the Scottish Government.
The BPA will have a stand at the Festival and all members are invited to attend and meet our team.
We are looking to have a display of all 14 breeds so if you would be interested in bringing pigs to the festival to showcase your breed please contact Jane Mathews on 07971 551313 or
The Festival has a complete range of competitive classes for pigs as well a Junior Handler competition all of which have generous prize money. If you are interested in the showing or handling classes it is not too late to enter.
